About GraphicsClass

Students will create projects including, but not limited to, text images, card decks, portraiture, and logo design. Students will be expected to critically evaluate (rubrics) and reflect (writing assignments) on their projects throughout the trimester.

Students may want to have a jump or flash drive to back up work, in addition to using the R: drive server.

Students will complete projects with a variety of tools and subjects, including:

* Adobe Photoshop Platform

* Marketing Concepts

* Color Theory

* Advertisement Theory (and the lies we are told)

* Logo Design

* New Tool Application and Adaptation

Grades

Typically, all work is completed during class time** and will be uploaded into InfiniteCampus. Student grades will be based on total points, including:

  • Participation

  • Projects (worth the most)

  • Class activities

  • Critiques

  • Quizzes

To ensure transparency, all projects and units are outlined as the class moves through them on my website. They will include details, rubrics, and point breakdown for all units.

General Class Expectations

1. Be respectful and responsible

2. Set high goals and expectations, try, and take pride in your work

3. Work well with others- cooperation is essential!

4. Understand and abide by the expectations outlined below

Specific Class Expectations

1. Students must exhibit appropriate behavior, which includes, but is not limited to, following all of the school rules. Students will follow all rules, policies, and expectations of the Student Handbook.

2. There will be zero tolerance of food or drink past the foyer entrance of the classroom. Students may leave their water bottles at the entrance to the room.

3. Students may not manipulate any equipment (tools and computers) in such a way that may cause damage such as plugging or unplugging equipment cords, turning switches on or off, or mistreating the equipment in any way.

4. Students will not use unauthorized passwords, disclose confidential passwords, or try to enter any unauthorized areas on a computer.

5. Students are expected to show respect for property, themselves, and others (words and actions).

6. A student will not maliciously cause another student to lose work, time, or data. This will result in a loss of points.

7. Because students may have a need to share computers and work cooperatively on projects, each student will contribute equally to every project or work assignment.

I understand that I make decisions that affect my actions. I make choices and am responsible for my own behavior. I also understand that if I do not follow the expectation of the tool lab, I may lose some or all of my privileges and possibly face other disciplinary actions.

I have read and understand the above expectations and I agree to follow them.
