We will be making our own 5-10 minute News Broadcasts!
STEP 1: Get into your groups of 3 (previously assigned). Pick out who will be your home anchor, your weather person, and your flash news caster.
STEP 2: Ideas!! On a group google doc, write out your names and casted roles.
*Each person will have to film in front of the green screen
and will edit their own scene*
1. Come up with what you want your show opening to be (basic introductions and opening images/ scene).
2. Come up with what you want your home anchor to talk about.
3. Come up with what your weather person will talk about (weather related).
4. Come up with your breaking news flash for your flash news caster.
5. Come up with how you will tie it all together.
6. Plan your credits.
7. PROPS. List EVERY prop & uniform/clothing your will need in your newscast.
Have Mrs. Yelenick check it off before you move on.
STEP 3: Script! Use THIS script template. Write out each part of the show with transitions and FULL DIALOGUE for each scene.
Have Mrs. Yelenick check it off before you move on.
STEP 4: Storyboard your script using the storyboard in the UPLOAD FILES at the bottom of this page. Be sure to storyboard EACH & EVERY scene!
Have Mrs. Yelenick check it off before you move on.
STEP 5: Film your scenes.
Make sure the green screen has no wrinkles and is well lit. This will help in editing.
PAY ATTENTION!!!
STEP 6: EACH STUDENT WILL EDIT THEIR OWN SCENE AND COMPLETE THE GREEN SCREEN TO EXPORT.
STEP 7: Share your edited files with each other via Google Drive.
STEP 8: On ONE computer, put all the scenes together with:
an introduction scene
music
anchor, weather, news flash
smooth transitions
a closing scene
credits (beginning or end)
STEP 9: FINAL CUT! Make sure your newscast is perfect for viewing.
Does it make sense?
Does it tell an interesting story?
Did the group do a good job?
