Creativity

In the Merriam-Webster's dictionary, creativity is defined as; "the ability to make new things or think of new ideas." Many people think that creativity is only something only for artists.  The truth is though that we all hold an amount of creativity in us.  During our every day live's we have opportunities to be creative.  Especially in college.  Think about it. Coming up with creative ways to manage your time to get all your work done and have a social life.  Every paper you write for a class.  Though we often don't see any of these things as creative, they are.  How you think about the topic.  Your frame of reference and how you decide to make it come out on the page, this takes creativity of thought.  There can be creativity in just about anything if you're open.

As children play was an important part of life. Not only was it a way for us to build up peer relationships, it was a way for us to express ourselves without limits.  When is the last time you did something that felt like play?  That felt fully and completely creative?  How did you feel?  Have you been missing some of that in your college life?  Have you been feeling so anxious or depressed or angry, that all creativity and joy feels stifled?  Maybe you should make some time for a little creativity.
