Connections

No Wellness Center can work well in a vacuum.  That is why the Husson University Wellness Center works closely with other Husson University Departments and community resources. No information is exchanged without a signed release by the student. Signing that release means that the student receives more comprehensive care.

Career Services - http://www.husson.edu/careerservices

Career Services is a great resource for the students we see that may be struggling with career path, resume writing, wondering what the job market is like, or even how to interview.  Our connection with Career Services, means that students with issues in this area will be guided to the right place and get their needs met.  Information updates regarding events that occur such as round tables, or workshops are shared regularly.  We do not share any mental health information with Career Services. All services are confidential.

Center for Student Success - https://www.husson.edu/student-success/

The center for student success is a great resource for students that need to access accommodations, tutoring, writing resources, peer advising, or assistance with academic skills such as time management, study skills, and more.

Community Connections

The Wellness Center does its best to maintain connections in the outside community.  This allows the students to have more options for services.  If a student is in need of more intensive services, our center will work with the student to find a good fit in the community from our referral list. We will make sure that they are referred to someone who can accept their insurance and that they have openings to see the student.

Outreach

The Wellness Center is a part of the Student Life Department at Husson.  As a team, the student life department works hard to aid students in transforming their lives.  It is part of the department's mission to offer support and guidance to help students achieve their goals and perhaps even go beyond them.  As a part of this mission, the Wellness Center strives to offer outreach services and support among the campus community on issues that are pertinent to the well being of all students.  Some of the services we offer to the campus community include education and training on mental health issues to staff, faculty and students, groups on stress management, healthy choices, relationships, conflict resolution and many more.  If you are interested in enlisting our services for a group or a class, please contact us and let us know.
