Gresham School Board Meeting
February 1, 2021 Minutes
Present: Alphia Creapeau, Joe Ejnik, Doug Huck, Grace Schwefel, and Superintendent - Newell Haffner.
Virtual: James Mathews, Jim Hoffman, Marge Eberhard, Principal - Ben Heninger, Director of Finance - Denise Guex, Administrative Assistant - Cathy Opperman, Director of Maintenance and Operations - Jim Dudek, Leah Lasecki and Jill Ejnik.
Meeting Called to Order: The meeting was opened at 7:04pm by President Alphia Creapeau.
Pledge of Allegiance: The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.
Approve or Amend the Agenda: Motion to amend the agenda (add WIAA State Tournament Attendance) and approval was made by Doug Huck, second by Jim Mathews, roll call vote was unanimous, motion carried.
Public Comments: None.
Soccer Cooperative Agreement with Bowler/Renewal: Motion to approve the soccer cooperative renewal with Bowler was made by Joe Ejnik, second by Marge Eberhard, roll call vote was unanimous, motion carried.
Construction Update: An update was given by Newell Haffner in Nate Yahn’s absence.
2019-2020 Audit Review - Leah Lasecki: Review was given.
Consent Agenda
Previous Meeting Minutes: Motion to approve the meeting minutes of January 18th was made by Doug Huck, second by Joe Ejnik, roll call vote was unanimous, motion carried.
January Voucher Report: Motion to approve January vouchers was made by Doug Huck, second by Marge Eberhard, roll call vote was unanimous, motion carried.
Administrative Report: Newell Haffner reviewed the following: ESSER, vaccines, open enrollment dates, transcribed credit for Welding, and Mission, Vision and Values info.
Operations Report
Lawn Care Bids: 2 bids were received back out of the 5 that were sent out for bid. Motion to continue with Brent Draheim Snow Removal and Lawn Care for the 2021-2022 school year was made by Joe Ejnik, second by Doug Huck, roll call vote was unanimous, motion carried.
School Calendar: Motion to table this item was made by Doug Huck, second by Marge Eberhard, roll call vote was unanimous, motion carried.
Gresham FFCRA: Discussion took place.
Alternative Open Enrollment Applications: None
Back to School Plan: The number of students attending virtual versus in person was discussed.
WIAA State Tournament Attendance: Motion to approve WIAA conditions for attendance at home tournament games (2 fans per athlete and coach) was made by Doug Huck, second by Grace Schwefel, roll call vote was unanimous, motion carried.
