Gresham Native American Parent Advisory Committee Minutes

October 14, 2020

Attendance: Heather Hoffman, Kim Neitzer, Alphia Creapeau, Nancy Buettner, Newell Haffner

Meeting was called to order by President Heather Hoffman

The motion to approve the agenda was made by Kim Neitzer and seconded by Alphia Creapeau.

Motion to approve the meeting minutes from 7-6-2020 by Alphia Creapeau. Seconded by Kim Neitzer. Vote 3-0.

Newell discussed doing a parent survey with all of our Native American parents. He wants to have some CoVid type questions added to it. We will look it over at the next meeting.

We discussed having meetings for the upcoming school year. The motion was made to have meetings on the SECOND Wednesday of the month at 6:00 pm by Kim Neitzer and seconded by Alphia Creapeau. Vote: 3-0 (Nancy and Newell said yes, also 5-0). We will continue to use Bluejeans to allow meetings to be virtual.

Newell shared/passed out the Bylaws for the Gresham Native American Parent Advisory Committee (GNAPAC). We will look over and suggest changes if needed.

The committee was discussed and the idea of a student being on the committee was talked about. Newell mentioned using the Culture Club president. The motion was made to table elections until the next meeting to see if we could get some more people involved in the committee. The motion was made by Kim Neitzer and seconded by Alphia Creapeau.

We discussed increasing membership on the committee. It was decided that everyone would think of one person to invite to the next meeting.

Motion to adjourn by Kim Neitzer and seconded by Alphia Creapeau. The vote went 3-0.
