Gresham School Board Meeting

August 28, 2017 Minutes

Present: Pat Pleshek, Marge Eberhard, Joan Rosenow, Alphia Creapeau and Grace Schwefel. Absent - Jeff Hoffman and Andy Schmidt. Also present: Principal – Newell Haffner, Principal - Ben Heninger and Director of Finance and Operations – Holly Burr.

Meeting Called to Order: Meeting was opened at 7:00pm by Vice President, Pat Pleshek.

Pledge of Allegiance: The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.

Approve or Amend the Agenda: Motion to approve the agenda was made by Marge Eberhard, second by Joan Rosenow, voice vote was 5-0 in favor, 2 absent, motion carried.

Public Comments: None

School District Policy Adoption Resolution 64-2017: Resolution was read by Grace Schwefel. Motion to adopt Resolution 64-2017 was made by Marge Eberhard, second by Alphia Creapeau, voice vote was 5-0 in favor, 2 absent, motion carried.

Elementary Student Handbook: New policies were incorporated into handbook. Motion to approve the Elementary Student Handbook was made by Alphia Creapeau, second by Joan Rosenow, voice vote was 5-0 in favor, 2 absent, motion carried.

JH/SH Student Handbook: Motion to approve the JH/SH Student Handbook was made by Marge Eberhard, second by Alphia Creapeau, voice vote was 5-0 in favor, 2 absent, motion carried.

Employee Handbook: Discussion took place on omitting the need of board approval on PTO gifting days. New policies were also incorporated into the handbook. Motion to adopt the Employee Handbook with changes (board approval not needed for gifting days) was made by Joan Rosenow, second by Alphia Creapeau, voice vote was 5-0 in favor, 2 absent, motion carried.

Motion to Adjourn: Motion to adjourn was made by Marge Eberhard, second by Alphia Creapeau, voice vote was 5-0 in favor, 2 absent, motion carried.
