Here's two templates to ensure you spend more time on writing and less on fiddling about with formatting.
All the formatting structure for automatically creating a table of contents and page numbering et cetera, is already in place—all you have to do is not break it! That means formatting any headings using the styles menu, not just by formatting the text. See my post on The 10 Commandments of Word Processing if this is news to you.
