3 Finger Drag

It's well worth customising the trackpad settings on your MacBook to make sure it's working in exactly the way you like. The two most important teaks are:

Tap to Click

Switch on tap to click so your trackpad works like an iPad:

Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Trackpad.

3 Finger Drag

Dragging and dropping using a trackpad, is a lot easier if you enable this option, unfortunately it is a little buried...

  1. From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
  2. Click the Accessibility icon.
  3. Choose Mouse & Trackpad from the options on the left.
  4. Click Trackpad Options.
  5. Place a checkmark next to "Enable dragging."
  6. From the related pop-up menu, choose “three finger drag” so there's a checkmark next to it.
  7. Click OK.
