Apple Shapes

Clipart is back! Apple have given it their magical touch, so all of the artwork is gorgeous, and there's lots of it. Even better all of the shapes are editable and resizable, so next time you're looking for a simple beautiful image to embellish anything, look no further.

All of the iWorks apps support Shapes, but I prefer to use Keynote as the slides are screen size, and I can export the slide as an image.

Top Tip

These shapes are perfect to use as illustrations in other apps, especially Google Slides and online tools like Canva, but the problem is you want the shape you export to be a transparent image, so it's not set within a white rectangle. To do this:

  1. Create/edit/customise your shape/s
  2. Export as a PNG image (or just take a screenshot but this will be a lower image quality)
  3. Open the image to edit in Preview and use the instant alpha tool to select the background colour (probably white) and then delete and save.
  4. Now this image can be used online, as it has a transparent background.
