DO NOW: One-Word Go-Around
Mr. Hanlon will present a character developed through the same process you have been using.
(Chose a theme, identified what it looks like, personified the theme into a character.)
After hearing the description, describe this character in one word.
COLLABORATIVE WRITING:
Imagine this character in a room with someone who provides an obstacle to their goals.
As a class, we will write their interaction. Put your suggestions in the chat window. Mr. Hanlon will select lines to insert into the script.
After a page, we will have two volunteers read the script aloud.
15 MINUTES OF WRITING: Google Classroom
Put your character into a room with the character that provides the obstacle.
What would they say to each other?
Have your protagonist work to achieve their goal, but then have them run into obstacles.
SHARE: 2 Cold Calls, then volunteers.
Writers will read the first 4-6 lines of the script with Mr. Hanlon.
STUDIO TIME: Continue writing.
