GOAL: Practice a 3-camera set up.
DO NOW: Group Counting. (We did this activity on Thursday to create focus for the period.)
We count to 16 together.
Each person says exactly one number when we count.
No communication allowed (verbal or otherwise).
No developing patterns (go in a circle, pre-select a number, etc).
On Thursday, we got to 41.
GAME PREPARATION: Set up the room to record improvisation games with a three-camera set up.
ROLES:
Facilitator/Host: Marie
Camera 1: Caesar (record a full shot or a long shot from the left side of the room)
Camera 2: Ryan (record medium and close up shots from a wheelie chair in center of the room)
Camera 3: Josh (record a full shot or a long shot from the right side of the room)
Actors: Everyone else
DOUBLE BLIND FREEZE:
Two students take the stage (the east end of the room).
Two other students sit in chairs facing away from the performers.
Cameras get in position.
The two performers start a scene that plays out for a short period of time.
The host calls “Freeze,” and the performers freeze.
The “on deck” students (facing away from the performers) turn around, observe, and then tap out the performers, taking on their exact body position.
The two new performers start a brand new scene.
The process repeats.
1:30 → Although the game can continue, the cameras should stop and upload footage to Google Drive, and into WeVideo.
