DO NOW Human Statues
Think about your most memorable performance experience (EoLs count). How can you best represent that with your body (think of a frozen statue).
One at a time, everyone will share their name, and show their statue while explaining it.
CHARACTER BUILDING: Who Are You?
Use the character building template in Google Classroom to take notes on who you are.
Pay particular attention to your GOAL and OBSTACLE.
What do you want and why can't you get it? What are you working towards, and what stands in the way?
It could be a long term goal or a short term goal. You want something. What is it?!
Everyone shares. What is your goal, and what is your obstacle?
STUDIO TIME: Monologue
From the greek roots...
(Mónos = Alone) + (Logos = Speech)
Monologue = A speech made by one solitary character.
Write a monologue that you would speak as a character, explaining who you are.
Tips:
Who are you speaking to? Is it someone who is in your way? Or someone who could help? Someone that you know or a stranger?
What are you doing while you speak? Rarely do we speak uninterrupted for extended periods of time in real life. What are you doing while you are speaking?
