LEARNING GOAL: Practice reading subtext.
DO NOW: Quick Jot
If a character's line of dialogue is, "I'm responsible for you," write what the subtext could be.
(What do they mean when they say that? How would the subtext change if the character felt proud? Angry? Sad? Think about other emotions as well.)
DO NEXT: Read the line while thinking about your subtext.
