ADMINISTRATIVE CONTRACTS AND COMPENSATION

This Policy applies to Ashburnham-Westminster Regional School District Administrative Staff employed under individual contracts, which are negotiated by the Superintendent.

A monetary value of compensation and benefits for each administrative group shall be calculated annually that represents the total combined value of all compensation and benefits expended in the previous fiscal year for each administrative group.

In the absence of any policies or directives as may be established by the School Committee the Administrative Staff compensation and benefits amount presented for current budget deliberations shall be the above calculated amounts plus a percentage equal to the average percentage provided in the various Collective Bargaining Agreements of the District. If one or more of the Collective Bargaining Agreements is/are under negotiations the Negotiations Sub-Committee shall recommend the percentage amount to be used. The Superintendent may recommend an adjustment to this percentage.

The resulting total administrative compensation and benefits amounts, approved in the budget, may only be exceeded with the approval of the School Committee.

Initial contracts issued to Administrative Staff will be for not less than one (1) year and for not more than three (3) years in length, and may be reissued by the Superintendent at levels of compensation/benefits as described above for not less than three (3) years and for not more than five (5) years in length unless the Superintendent and Administrative Staff member mutually agree to a shorter term of employment or the contract is automatically renewed for a one (1) year period due to a notice of non-renewal of the contract not being issued to the Administrative Staff member at least sixty (60) days prior to the expiration of the contract.

As a condition of employment, each Administrative Staff member must maintain any required certification, adhere to the policies and goals of the School Committee and the directives of the Superintendent, and annually not later than July 1 of the year submit any required documents (plans, goals, evaluations, etc.).
