OUTLINE OF BUDGET RESOURCES FOR THE SCHOOL AND IDENTIFICATION OF FUNDS USED TO MEET THE COMPONENTS OF THE SCHOOL PLAN.
Are the budgeted amounts sufficient to meet the needs of the school plan?
If not sufficient, list amounts needed for the particular line item.
METHOD OF MONITORING THE PLAN
This section is linked to the accountability thrust of the School Reform Bill. There should be indicators developed that would allow the council to evaluate the effectiveness of the plan and subsequently the school. The State Department of Education will be developing school profiles. Some of the local school indicators will be included in the School Profile when released by the Department of Education.
ACCOUNTABILITY ISSUE
The role of the council is to advise the principal in the development of the plan. The superintendent will hold the principal accountable for the leadership of the school, the day by day management of the school, and the school/student results. The superintendent cannot hold a council accountable for results but the hope is that the advisory nature of the council around school issues will enhance the educational results for which the principal is held accountable.
