Trailer light made from clear perspex is ribbed on the outside so just lift it out of the slot and turn the smooth side out

Get an old rubber car mat and cut a bit out to fit into the end of the trailer unit .
Cut it to shape with the clear perspex in place in the trailer unit

Stick it to the outside of the Perspex with Super Glue or similar .
Only stick it to the Perspex with the perspex in place in the slot .
Note that the end is very slightly tapered so when you do go to stick the rubber onto the clear Perspex make sure it is the correct way
