{ SLIDING POINTS TYPE DISTRIBUTOR ; YELLOW TOP H.T.E ENGINE ONLY ; RIALTO 2 ;

Probably started about November 1983 and ceased around September / October 1986 .

I received the following distributor info from World of Reliant forum member " Landyman " ;

TYPE ...... MODEL .............. BUILD CODE = BUILD WEEK ........................................... BUILD YEAR

45D4 ..... 41961 A ............. 5183 .................. 51 { Dec 19th - Dec 25th } ...................... 1983 ...

The distributor I have was built 1st week Jan 1986 . }

TYPE ...... MODEL .............. BUILD CODE = BUILD WEEK ......... BUILD YEAR

45D4 ..... 41961 A ........... 0186 .................. 01 ...................... 1986 ...

{ SLIDING POINTS TYPE DISTRIBUTOR ; The first distributor on the list below was built in the 3rd week Oct 1986 and is possibly one of the first batch of distributors for the new generation RIALTO SE models which replaced the H.T.E engined RIALTO 2 models }

It would appear that the 41908 A distributors were the common ones fitted to the later Mk1 ROBIN models and then reinstated from the RIALTO SE models right up to the last Mk3 ROBIN

TYPE ...... MODEL .............. BUILD CODE = BUILD WEEK ......... BUILD YEAR

The following info has been supplied by R3w member Hidunc

{ Type 45D4 }

41704 TW9E {ANT } 1978

41907A ???

41908 Mebea Fox {Greece only} 1980 on

{ The above list is not definitive, and full data on Lucas distributors has not yet been found .

Please help if you can add any data, especially characteristics and internal data for the 45D4 range.

Also note that the 45D4 body is only a cheaper version of the 25D4 , with one bush instead of two.

Internals may be transferred between distributors to build to the correct specification , though each type needs its correct cap : DDB106 or DDB108.

Ensure the correct vacuum advance unit is fitted.

{When these fail, it is an easy mistake to swap in a ‘new’ one of the wrong characteristics as they do not differ visually, but must be identified by the code stamped around the ‘nose’. }
