CYLINDER HEAD REMOVAL TOOLS
{ 1 } CYLINDER HEAD REMOVAL TOOL ; ORIGINAL
COPIED FROM A DESIGN BY " RONDARK " ? , FORUM MEMBER ON THE OLD R3W WEBSITE .
The idea is that the bar rests on top of the cylinder head studs
and you use spacers under the rocker cover nuts to take up the gap between the nut and the top of the plate .
I HAVE DESIGNED AN ADDITIONAL HEAD REMOVAL BRACKET TO WORK ALONG WITH THE ORIGINAL STYLE SHOWN ABOVE .
The original single plate removal tool which fits over the rocker pillar studs inserts a downwards force on top of the studs which pulls the head up .
The problem with this is that it lifts the head only at the one side and this causes the other side to grip on the studs ,
It also only takes the head up to the end of the studs when the plate butts against the head .

The following is my designed Mk2 version of the original tool ;
Mk2 VERSION OF THE ORIGINAL TOOL
The Mk2 version of the original tool is designed to be used on it,s own or with the other tool .
The Mk 2 version requires the 2 long thin rocker cover studs to be removed first .
The top of the Mk2 tool has 12mm holes drilled inline with the head studs .
10mm nuts are welded below the plate .
10mm bolts are inserted from the top .
The bottom inch of the bolts threads are reduced by half so that the are a slack fit in the head stud holes .

The top of the tool has 12mm holes drilled inline with the head studs .
