IGNITION TIMING LAMP / INSPECTION LAMP

How to make a ;

Cheap inspection lamp /

Static timing lamp /

Power continuity lamp to check whether power is getting to a part .

Buy a LandRover side lamp ; part number RTC 5012 or RTC 5012G .

This comes complete with wires .

LANDROVER SIDE LAMP PART NUMBER RTC 5012 or RTC 5012G

Cut the bullet ends of the wires and attach 2 crocodile clips .

Insulate the crocodile clips .

BEFORE doing any work with the lamp check that it is working by attaching the

BLACK wire to the { - } NEGATIVE side of the BATTERY

RED wire to the { + } POSITIVE side of the BATTERY

Check that it is working by attaching the BLACK wire to the { - } NEGATIVE side of the BATTERY and the RED wire to the { + } POSITIVE side of the BATTERY

INSPECTION LAMP

BLACK wire to the { - } NEGATIVE side of the BATTERY

RED wire to the { + } POSITIVE side of the BATTERY

STATIC TIMING

BLACK wire to the { - } NEGATIVE side of the BATTERY .

RED wire to the { - } NEGATIVE side of the COIL .

POWER CONTINUITY CHECK

BLACK wire to the { - } NEGATIVE side of the BATTERY or ANY EARTH POINT.

RED wire to the END of the WIRE YOU WISH TO CHECK
