R3W forum member Dranreb contacted Burlen on 4 August 2011 and was informed that the settings for the new float were the same as the older HS carbs with the early nylon float and steel needle .
The gap between the lever and the face of the lid should be between
0.125” { 3.17 millimetres } and 0.187” { 4.75 millimetres }

AEB is the Yellow top needle
AAT is the usual needle for most other engines .
I have created a spreadsheet comparing the normal AAT jet needle {Spring type } for the SU HS2 carb against 3 other RELIANT NEEDLES .
I have also compared the standard needle found in the MINI SU CARB against the normal AAT jet needle {Spring type } .

For anyone who is thinking of using a Standard MINI SU carb ;
The MINI carb is fitted with an AAV needle which is the SAME or SLIGHTLY WEAKER at the stages around the TICKOVER and SMALL THROTTLE OPENINGS .
It is MUCH RICHER from MID THROTTLE to the TOP END

The trunnion is approx 5mm diameter and has a bolt with a 6mm head or a screw with a slot in it which has a 5BA ? thread .
The carb choke cable operating lever where the trunnion fits in a hole is up to approximately 3.3mm thick . }
