For Black History Month, we had the privilege of hosting a talk show where we interviewed Ranette Prime, a black lawyer who recently opened her own hot chocolate business. We asked her about her journey, her background, and the challenges she faced along the way. Her story was inspiring, showing that with hard work and determination, it’s possible to succeed in many different fields. As a humanities student interested in business, we learned how important it is to understand the personal stories behind people's success. It showed us that combining a passion for community and business can create powerful opportunities.
Events like this are so important for the students at Westminster Academy. By hearing real-life stories of success from diverse backgrounds, students can see that they, too, can achieve their dreams, no matter where they come from. It helps build confidence and shows that with persistence, anything is possible. It’s not just about celebrating history but also about inspiring our future leaders to aim high and believe in themselves.
