In this unit, we learned all about what goes into making a successful marketing campaign. From doing market research to understanding the target audience, it was interesting to see how much thought and strategy is behind even the simplest ads we see on social media or TV. It made me realise that marketing isn’t just about selling items but it’s also about connecting with people.
One of the most interesting parts of this unit was learning about different advertising techniques and how companies use them to grab people’s attention. For example, we looked at real-life campaigns from big brands and analysed why they worked so well. It was fun to break down the psychology behind them and notice how elements like colours and slogans can influence our buying decisions without us even realising it!
As part of our exam, we had to create our own marketing campaign, which was challenging but rewarding at the same time. This is because it provided us the opportunity to have our creativity flow and think outside the box. We also had to learn about budgeting and figure out how to spend our (pretend) money wisely to get the best results. It was an enriching experience and helped us dive into the marketing world, giving us insight into how it would be like if we were to pursue a career in the industry after graduation.
This unit showed me that marketing isn’t just about flashy ads - it’s about understanding people, solving problems, and bringing ideas to life. It gave me a new appreciation for the work that goes into every successful brand I see. It also made me realise how important marketing is in today’s world, where social media and digital ads have so much influence.
Overall, I’ve definitely been inspired by this unit. It showed me how creative and exciting a career in marketing could be. It also gave me skills that are useful no matter what career path I choose, like strategic thinking, teamwork, and communication. It’s amazing to think that behind every successful product is a team of people who started with just an idea and turned it into something that connects with millions.
