Learning Module #1
Jack and Julia learned how to use an Arduino to control 4 LEDs, using a joystick. They developed a basic understanding of the pins on an Arduino, the wiring required to set up a circuit, how to code an Arduino to function lights, and how to fade or blink a LED on command. At the end of the learning module, they were able to turn on a specific LED depending on the direction of the joystick.
Learning Module #2
Gia and Julia learn how to create circuits and utilize a soldering iron to connect the parts provided in the kit for the PC board. They also learned about different types of resistors, as well as how to wire a speaker to a PC board.
Learning Module #3
Julia and Desmond learned how to emulate games using a Raspberry Pi 5 and RetroPie. They learned about Raspberry Pi 5s, game emulation, game controllers, Raspberry Pi commands, and speakers. By the end of the learning module, their Raspberry Pi was able to emulate games like Super Mario World and Street Fighter, as well as play audio using speakers hooked up to the monitor.
Learning Module #4
Learning Module #5
Gia, Julia, and Kiki aimed to create a spider robot capable of walking, waving and dancing. Together they successfully built a functioning robot and learned about 3D printing, wiring, how to use servos and code movements, GitHub and how to assemble the robot. Although they faced challenges with the robot's left leg and individual defective servos, they found their experiences to be valuable despite the problems they encountered.
