Learning Module 1: Arduino
Nicole K and I programmed a traffic light and a laser while working with LEDs, sensors, and switches. This was a five day long learning module with the intent to learn something new about Arduinos.
Learning Module 2: Soldering
Matthew O and I soldered using the soldering kit, where we tried to get an ambulance light to work. It didn't work in the end but it was a very cool project!
Learning Module 3: 3D Printing
Jess K and I experimented with the 3D printer, printing out models we found online while learning about how to change filament and other maintenance. I modeled two things: the CS@WH logo and the husky to print out using Blender. Jess made some pumpkins with top hats using Tinkercad.
Husky (made with Blender)
CS@WH logo (made with Blender off of a picture reference)
Killer Queen model found online
Learning Module 4: Unreal Engine 4 Learning
Jess K and I learned the basics of Unreal Engine 4, a free game engine used in the industry. We had a tiny playable demo, though it was just to test out the basics and mechanics.
Learning Module 5: Alexa Controlled LED Strip
Jordan H and I learned how to control an LED strip using Amazon Alexa, Arduino, and Raspberry Pi. It plays different animations and colors with voice commands!
Learning Module 6: Unity VR Game
Alex B and I created a Virtual Reality game in Unity using the Oculus Go headset. It's a basic platforming game where the player can look around in the 3D world through VR as they are playing.
Learning Module 7: Finch
Kayla W and I learned how to write in Python while programming on a Finch robot. We tried to make it wireless as well using Raspberry Pi.
