Arduino - Color Changer
Liam worked with Casey B. and Jerry N. to learn the basics of arduinos. They used the basic knowledge to create a color changing LED based on the distance of an object to the device.
3D Printer - Lightsaber
Liam and Justin D. spent the module learning how to design a print 3d models. They designed their own lightsaber model and printed it using various methods to make it come to life.
Soldering Practice
Liam and Miguel D. used their third learning module to practice and learn more about soldering wires and circuit boards. They followed the guide booklet and made a device that plays sounds through a speaker and emits lights. They can change the frequency that is played from turning a dial.
Keyboard
Working with Rio R., Liam assembled and programmed a keyboard. They used a building tutorial on the internet from the company Nibble. Diligently following the steps and fulling completing it, with only a few minor setbacks.
Web Scraper
During the fifth learning module Liam helped Jason M. build a web scraper to find data on products they searched for. Jason built the main scraper that found prices for products or stocks that they would input. Liam focused on building a website around the web scraper to make it more user friendly.
VR Haptic Glove
Liam and Lenny T. used their sixth learning module to try and recreate a haptic feedback glove designed for virtual reality that they saw online. They followed what little guides their where and successfully built the glove, however it would not transfer the correct data to the computer and they ran out of time to solve the issue.
Real Time Translator
Miguel D. and Liam built a functioning audio translator that worked in real time. Using the audio to text program from AssemblyAI, they built a program to read the incoming text and convert it to the language the speaker wish for. Using various speech commands the user could change the language they wanted to translate to, toggle on or off the translated text being spoken out loud, and when to shutoff the program, all without lifting a finger.
Articulating Hand
For the eighth and final learning module, Liam and Jerry N. decided to repurposed the VR Haptic Glove that Liam and Lenny had made earlier. They found a model of an articulating hand on the internet and choose to make the glove be able to control it. Liam and Jerry made a few changes to the glove to better suit the needs of the project. Jerry focused on coding the glove to work the motors need to control the hand while Liam more focused on building the hand. The end result is a hand that moves with the glove.
