In this learning module, Donovan and An learned how to use the Arduino IDE along with creating projects from the Arduino website. Additionally, Donovan and An learned how the circuiting worked on a breadboard. Donovan and An applied the skills they learned to experiment with the arduinos and the breadboard.
Learning Module #1 - Final Write Up
In this learning module, Donovan and Josh learned how to solder onto a circuit board through practice soldering. Additionally, they learned about the different components that they would use in their soldering project including transistors, resistors, LEDs, speakers, etc. Donovan and Josh applied their soldering skills to create a speaker that corresponds in sound to an LED, reminiscent of a police car.
In this learning module, Donovan and Dominick learned the basics of HTML from Khan Academy. After completing the "Intro to HTML" course on Khan Academy, Donovan and Dominick used Replit to find out what they could do with what they had learned. Using Replit, Donovan and Dominick created a very simplistic website from the HTML they had learned.
Learning Module #3 - Final Write Up
In this learning module, Donovan and Nick furthered their knowledge of HTML through Code Academy mastering the HTML sections. This was a much better alternative to learning from Khan Academy's courses. In addition, they were able to learn CSS from the CSS courses but did not complete them as they did the HTML sections. In the end, they were able to learn how to build a website using menus and other features.
Learning Module #4 - Final Write Up
In this learning module, Donovan and Dominick learned how to make a 2D Unity Game using tutorials and applying computational principles learned in Detrick's classes. Since they were using an older version of Unity, the tutorial could only lead them so far. However, Donovan was still able to implement wall jumping and spikes on his own using different methods. During the project, they experienced many struggles, Donovan forgot to save losing setting him back twice with both his assets and his code. In the end, Dominick couldn't add what he had created to the project, so the project was left mildly unfinished.
In this learning module, Donovan and Nathan learned how to use a DJI Phantom Vision 2 and potential fixes. In addition, they learned much about the basic layout of drones and how the software works to calibrate the drone. In the end they weren't able to fix the drone, though they need the problems and why it couldn't be fixed. The drone needed to be properly calibrated through the DJI Phantom Vision Assistant Software, but the drone wouldn't properly connect. After a final hard reset, they were forced to give up on the drone.
In this learning module, Donovan and Chris learned how to make a 3D Unity Game with C# using a multitude of tutorials and forms. In addition, they were able to figure out through a lengthy process how to get the Unity Teams Plastic SCM working.
