Dhruv Dave and Alexis D'ambly were provided with Arduino kits so that they could play around with them. They would learn many codes that associate with different wiring and tools in order for a pattern to happen.
Dhruv Dave and Dominic Bush, as well as Connor Deming and Nathaniel Arteaga, worked together on figuring out how to operate a 3D printer. They would do research on how to operate the machine, as well as how to troubleshoot if something goes wrong. They also learned how to change the filament, and they learned how to use Tinkercad and the Craftbot 3D printing software.
Dhruv Dave, Connor Deming, and Nathaniel Arteaga decided to learn more about computers and how the operating systems worked. They took older computers that Mr. Detrick had lying around and collecting dust, and they took them, wiped the hard drives, and put either Linux Mint or Chrome OS on them because of the incredible performance on those operating systems. They are soon going to be donating them to Habitats for Humanity and Family Promise.
Dhruv and Gabby decided to feel nostalgic and go back to using Python like the good old Intro days. At first, they learned how to use Python again. Then, they wanted to apply their knowledge and make a Madlibs game, and then go more complex with a Password generator.
Dhruv and Dominic decided to work together to create a pong game using Unity. They found a tutorial, and they used it for majority of the learning module. The game works very well!
Taryn and Dhruv decided to work together on a learning module, and they both found scanning very interesting. They decided to work on it and even create a safe, where if you scan a specific key card, it will unlock it!
For the last learning module of the year, Connor and Dhruv decided to experiment with making games. At first, they wanted to make a game in Unity, but Mr. Detrick presented the idea to use Game Maker, and potentially gain enough knowledge in order to present it at the fifth Hackathon.
