Leonard, Desmond and Cecilia worked together on soldering. They learned about resistors and their values, the basics of soldering, such as how to solder wires, resistors, LEDs, etc., and how to solder an entire circuit board. During this, they logged their experiences, and encountered many problems talked about in their write up.
Leonard and Ryan worked together on arduino. With prior knowledge already, they decided to take on a big task, powering motors with an arduino, with an endgoal of making a car run. Although they were not able to accomplish this, they still learned much about motor shields, dc motors, and ultrasonic sensors.
Desmond and Leonard worked together again, this time on Unity. Using unity, they decided to make a 2D platformer. Although they were not able to make a full game, they were able to get the basic mechanics all implemented, and were able to create obstacles. They learned about ground casting, tilemaps, and much more, thanks to a great tutorial linked in their Daily Log and Writeup.
Leonard, Desmond, and Jonathan learnt the basics of MIT App Inventor, but ran into many issues along the way, such as Bluetooth not connecting, and the Arduino not taking inputs, which is better explained the daily log/writeup. Leonard was able to create an app (pictured left) that, combined with Arduino code (created by Jonathan), would allow you to move a motor forward, backwards, and stop the movement.
In this Learning Module, Leonard worked with Ryan to create a computer network (pictured below), which can communicate with each other without being connected to the internet. After this, they used Remote Access software to gain access to the other computers (pictured on left).
In this Learning Module, Leonard worked with Jonathan to create a Raspberry Pi phone. Although they were not able to fully create a phone, they were able to have an touch screen in portrait mode, that had a virtual keyboard that would pop up whenever clicking on a text box.
