Learning Module I
Arduino
By Julia Schulz and Jack-Lawrence Bisse
Julia and Jack worked together to learning how to use an arduino and understanding the fundamentals behind a circuit and how to send and receive signals to and from the arduino. Then the two worked together to understand how to make a joystick control LED's, which required a deeper understanding of the difference between digital and analog pins and how arduino understands information.
Learning Module II
Soldering
By Sienna Kachala and Jack-Lawrence Bisse
Sienna and Jack worked together during this learning module to get an introduction to how to solder and what the benefits to soldering over using something like a breadboard were. The two began by using one of the practice soldering kits that were already in the classroom, but eventually after finishing the speaker within the kit the two finished one of the project started earlier by Sean Briganti and Oleksandr Pradid consisting of soldering a mock christmas tree.
Learning Module III
Raspberry PI
By Addison Wood and Jack-Lawrence Bisse
In this learning module, Addison and Jack covered the topic of Raspberry PI. Learning Raspberry PI allowed Jack and Addison to also learn about different programming languages and platforms, such as Scratch and Arduino IDE. On top of working with code, Jack and Addison also covered how to hook up different components and circuits to the Raspberry PI.
Learning Module IV
Arduino Powered Hovercraft
By Kayleigh Steckel and Jack-Lawrence Bisse
In this learning module, Kayleigh and Jack worked together to make a Hovercraft Powered by Arduino. The two of them used the Arduino to power a brushless motor typically used for drones and used it to blow the air into the hovercraft. This learning module allowed the two of them to learn more about building and real like mechanics. Along with that they became more familiar with the code involved with using motors.
Learning Module V
Top-Down 2D Unity Game
By Kayleigh Steckel and Jack-Lawrence Bisse
In this learning module, Kayleigh and Jack worked together to make a 2d Top-down game in unity. The two of them used unity to make a game from scratch. During the project they learned some of the language used in unity, C#. Despite running into several problems the two of them learned a lot about Unity and about game development as a whole.
Learning Module VI
Hand Pose Tracking & Robot Arm Integration
By Franco Giovannetti and Jack-Lawrence Bisse
In this learning module, Franco and Jack worked together to make a working 3D Hand Pose Tracking . The two of them used an online module to make code to control the robot from scratch. During the project they learned about 3D hand pose tracking and about its limitations. Despite running into some problems with the robot itself, they learned a lot during this module.
Learning Module VII
RC Car + Face Tracking Turret
By Julia Schulz and Jack-Lawrence Bisse
In this learning module, Julia and Jack worked together to make a working RC car with a face tracking turret. The two of them used an online module to make code to control the robot from scratch. During the project they learned about python and 3D printing and how to communicated between Arduinos and raspberry pi's. Although they weren't able to complete the face tracking component the car itself was functional and worked well.
Learning Module VIII
Danganronpa Fan Game
By Julia Schulz, Desmond Dawuni, and Jack-Lawrence Bisse
In this learning module, Julia, Desmond, and Jack worked together to make a Danganronpa Fangame using Renpy. The three of them started from scratch and made almost all of the assets used in game (besides the backgrounds) by hand. During the project they learned about Renpy's unique coding language and the basics of sprite making. Although they weren't able to complete game in the given time interval they learned a lot and may continue the project in the future.
