At the beginning of a mission, you may attempt to Requisition a vehicle for your Faction, an Organisation you're a part of, or simply for yourself.
Vehicle Requisitions follow the same rules as for all other Wargear, with the following exceptions;
Cunning Acquisition and the Ganger's Scrounger ability cannot be used to Requisition Vehicles
Vehicle Rarity modifiers are 1 point higher than regular Wargear; Common is a +1 modifier, Uncommon a +2, Rare a +3, Very Rare a +4, and Unique a +5
Requisitioning Vehicles: Church of Steel, pg. 56
Agents in the same Faction or Organisation may choose to combine their Influence to attempt to gain access to a vehicle. Choose one Agent to make the Test, who must share at least one Keyword with the vehicle. Each Agent assisting on the Test is able to provide bonus dice equal to half their Influence Rating; in addition, the DN limit is increased by the same amount (up to a maximum bonus of +8).
Example: B.O.B., Trooper Wilson, and Abbot Tulman, all Tier 1 Agents, wish to Requisition a Goliath Truck to carry them across the wastelands of Gilead Prime to their objective. The Goliath has a Value of 7, and Vehicle Rarity of 1 (Common), leading to a total DN of 8.
Both Abbot Tulman and Trooper Wilson have an Influence Rating of 4, whilst B.O.B. has a rating of 2. They decide that Abbot Tulman will make the Test; Trooper Wilson is able to give 2 bonus dice and B.O.B. gives another 1. The maximum DN of vehicle they can now attempt to Requisition is 11 (two times the Abbot's Influence, plus three from the assisting Agents).
The Abbot rolls a dice pool of 7 dice with the following results: 2, 6, 5, 4, 6, 3, 4, and 2. Three Icons and two Exalted Icons; not enough to pass the Test, however, the Abbot chooses to spend one of his 2 Wealth to gain an additional Icon, meaning they now have the Goliath.
If you do not share any Keywords with a vehicle, or are attempting to acquire xenos vehicles, you must use the Irregular Acquisition Endeavour to find an unscrupulous broker willing to sell to you. The Cunning Test required to find a broker for vehicles with a Rarity of Rare or lower has a base DN equal to 5 + the Vehicles Rarity Modifier; for Very Rare vehicles the DN is 16, for Unique the DN is 20, and for Exotic the DN is 24.
No Shared Keywords: If you do not share any Keywords with a vehicle, the following rules apply to any Tests made to acquire it, dependent on the vehicle's Keywords. Where two or more Keywords are present, the higher DN modifier is used;
ADEPTUS MECHANICUS: The Tech-Priests of Avachrus jealously guard their creations - the Rarity Modifier of these vehicles is increased by +2.
ADEPTUS ASTARTES: The mighty vehicles of the Emperor's Angels are fiercely prized possessions of their chapters - the Rarity Modifier of these vehicles is increased by +2.
ADEPTA SORORITAS: Few in number, each vehicle of the Adepta Sororitas is a holy relic, and are carefully guarded - the Rarity Modifier of these vehicles is increased by +2.
ASTRA MILITARUM: Though the mighty war machine of the Astra Militarum uses thousands of vehicles, the bureaucracy of the Departmento Munitorum means each and every one must be accounted for - the Rarity Modifier of these vehicles is increased by +1.
AERONAUTICA IMPERIALIS: The vehicles used by the Aeronautica Imperialis are under the same scrutiny as those of the Astra Militarum - the Rarity Modifier of these vehicles is increased by +1.
AELDARI: Aeldari vehicles are scarce in the Gilead System - the Rarity Modifier of these vehicles is increased by +2.
DRUKHARI: Drukhari vehicles are an incredibly rare sight in the Gilead System - the Rarity Modifier of these vehicles is increased by +3.
ORK: Though there are vast numbers of Ork vehicles, the unreliability of their technology means finding one which works is very difficult - the Rarity Modifier of these vehicles is increased by +1.
NECRON: Necron vehicles cannot be found in the Gilead System.
T'AU: Other than on Bravka, T'au vehicles are scarce in the Gilead System - the Rarity Modifier of these vehicles is increased by +3 (or by +2 if on Bravka).
CHAOS: Few are willing to openly peddle items tainted by the Ruinous Powers - the Rarity Modifier of these vehicles is increased by +4, and you must make a Corruption Test with DN equal to 2 + the modified Rarity.
If a vehicle doesn't share any of the Keywords above, it's Rarity and Value are unaffected, although you must still follow the normal rules for acquiring it.
Some senior members of the Cult Mechanicus are permitted to study xenos technology during the course of its destruction, but outside the hands of Rogue Traders and some radical Inquisitors, acquiring or dealing in xenotech, known as the Left-Hand Trade, is a capital crime under Imperial Law. As such, no xenos vehicles may be stored in the Varonius Flotilla, and those caught or reported to be in possession of xenos vehicles must succeed a DN 10 Deception, Intimidation, or Persuasion Test.
On a failure, your Influence is reduced by 4d3, and you must pay Wealth equal to the Influence lost or be imprisoned.
On a success, your Influence is reduced by 2d3, and you will be under suspicion by the person or organisation which confronted you; this may have consequences later on if you do nothing to remedy the situation.
Regardless of the result, the vehicle is confiscated and destroyed, along with any upgrades or additions which have been made to the vehicle.
A valid Warrant of Trade allows the bearer to possess vehicles with which they share a Keyword, provided they have their own ship or base in which to store the vehicle - these keywords are determined when the warrant is issued (usually upon taking an archetype which grants this Warrant). No Warrants of Trade currently issued within the Gilead System permit the usage of vehicles with the DRUKHARI, NECRON, T'AU, or CHAOS Keywords.
