Lernaean Subsector

The Lernaean Subsector serves as a pillar of relative stability within the Ryxes Sector, something which has become an exceedingly rare commodity within the Imperium Nihilus. Comprising over two dozen inhabited star systems, with a wide array of populations and celestial compositions; the most prominent of these is the Sonov System, which acts as the region's political and socioeconomic keystone. And although security is far from bountiful, there exists a significant military presence within the region, with numerous regiments of the Astra Militarum raised and deployed throughout the cluster, as well as four of Battlefleet Ryxes' major naval bases;

• Nexus City, in the Sonov System

• Port Talos, in the Arietus System

• Naval Base Ackeron, in the Santripaal System

• Port Maran, in the Perileos System

Yet even this limited security is at risk, as many threats make their presence known or seek to expand their territories. Closely bordering the Lernaean Subsector in the Trailing direction lies the Grevain Cluster - a rapidly deteriorating cesspool of renegades and heretics caught up in an inter-system wave of uprisings against the God Emperor's divine rule - as well as the distant Helion Subsector. Looking Rimwards there is the growing threat posed by the Ork Warboss Madrag and his empire, as well as the small Transh Cluster, and the largely unexplored region beyond. Spinward is the Cytarine Subsector, a formerly stable region now subject to the attention of the T'au Empire's Fifth Sphere of Expansion.

And finally, as always, there lies the most insidious enemy; that which grows from within every supposedly loyal bastion of the Imperium. Subversive elements encompassing all manner of species, ideologies and motivations, with the potential to be found in the gutters and pipelines of the most prosperous hive cities, the hidden alcoves of the most pious of shrines, and in the minds of supposedly the most loyal of citizens. Perhaps not all with the means, but certainly the drive, to see their agendas fulfilled and take their small own corner of the Imperium apart, piece by piece.
