The Sonov System is a binary star system comprised of the main-sequence star Ithatrix Alpha, and the red dwarf Ithatrix Beta. First colonised during the Dark Age of Technology, it was rediscovered during the Great Crusade and after a short campaign was incorporated into the Imperium.
The planetary system comprises the worlds of Vulcari, Tethydes, Sonov, Gulmotov, Coyevis, Zobrov, Morth, Kessane, Traiam, and Ruvis, as well as a multitude of lesser satellites and asteroids.
A G-type main-sequence star, or yellow dwarf, of equivalent mass to Sol.
A red dwarf star that orbits it's larger twin.

Geography/Environment: Desolate wastes blasted by unsurvivable heat
Settlement Types: -
A lifeless rocky planet orbiting close to the system's twin suns. Mining corporations occasionally send prospecting missions to the planet's surface, but so far no mineral or ore deposits worth extracting have been found; as such, the planet remains in much the same state as when the system was initially colonised.

Geography/Environment: Rocky islands, long jagged cliffs, frequent extreme storms
Settlement Types: Isolated settlements clinging to the rocky cliffs
An ocean world subjected to extreme weather patterns caused by its close proximity to the twin suns. This weather has deterred any large-scale colonisation efforts, with a handful of villages and settlements clinging to the few rocky islands that pierce the world-spanning ocean. Despite having access to modern technology and knowledge of the wider Imperium, the inhabitants of these settlements share many characteristics with those living on feral worlds; they are often close-knit clans or groups of extended families, and are inherently distrustful of "offworlders". Though few in number, the planet contributes a small contingent to the Astra Militarum; these troopers are experts in amphibious warfare, and are often employed at the forefront of any such operations within the Ryxes Sector and beyond.

Geography/Environment: Arid wastelands
Settlement Types: Hive cities
A large Hive World terraformed and colonised milennia ago. Due to neglect and polution, what remains of the planet's fragile ecosystem is beginning to collapse; unless significant efforts are made to reverse these effects over the upcoming centuries, the planet will soon return to its original, inhospitable state.

Population: ~ 10 million
Planetary Governance: Lord-Warden Evan Trant
Capital: Aroyo Bastion
Geography/Environment: Barren wasteland exposed to the void
Settlement Types: Subsurface ming facilities and cellblocks
An outwardly inhospitable world, Leorus acts as both a Penal World and Mining World, using criminals from across the system to extract raw materials to be used in the forges and manufactora of Sonov and Gulmotov.
The exact number serving time in the caverns of Leorus is unknown; as long as the ore keeps flowing, the Adeptus Administratum is happy.

Settlement Types: Foundry-cities, vast underground engineering warrens
Formerly an unimportant mining world, over the last 500 years there has been rapid industrialisation and investment by both private ventures and the Adeptus Mechanicus, such that Gulmotov now produces much of the heavy machinery required throughout the system and beyond.
The planet is notable for its debris ring; the remnants of the planet's former moon, long since reduced to slag to feed the growing foundry cities on Gulmotov's surface.

Settlement Types: Abandoned mining facilities and a single hive city
Once a productive mining world, when the ore seams ran dry the ruling mining consortiums left for other worlds, leaving millions trapped behind. For almost a century the planet was wracked with strife and disorder until an enterprising shipping magnate set up business in the abandoned space elevator.
Renaming the elevator 'Nexus City', he invested much of his fortune into the construction of ship docking and repair facilities and conversion of the ore storage into vast warehouses for all manner of goods. His gamble paid off, and within a few decades, he ruled over one of the most prosperous worlds in the sector.
Nexus City now serves as one of the most important trading hubs of the entire Ryxes Sector - such is it's importance to the Imperium that a squadron of Battlefleet Ryxes is permanently based at Nexus City to deter any attempts to disrupt the flow of goods.

A relatively small gas giant. The Adeptus Mechanicus within the Sonov System have begun to scout it's atmosphere as a potential secondary source of hydrogen following a drop in the yields from Coyevis.
It has 14 moons, 2 of which are home to small colonies; Rogippe and Vistea.
