Esper Warden are those who maintain the shrines and temples to the Pantheon and its various Gods. With the Occupation and the coming of the Mists, the need for traveling shrine priests grew greatly, the need for individuals capable of upkeeping the far flung shrines of the minor family gods, including those who have fallen out of favor or whose families were lost in the purge.
Esper Wardens in the World of Ananke fulfill the important role of caring for Shrines to the various gods of Ananke, including shrines long abandoned or destroyed, and negotiating on behalf of mortals. Tradition dictates that an Esper Warden must be paid for their services, failure to offer payment is said to bring great misfortune and terrible repercussions. Likewise, Wardens cannot refuse payment or ask for more no matter how small or large.
