Sommerset LARP: The Ananke Chronicles is a high fantasy adventure in a world besieged by a strange alien power that seeks to dominate every corner of the world. Characters take many forms, the down in their luck airship pilot, the ragged caravan nomad abandoned to the wilds, or the ragged youth raised in the dangerous wilderness.
10 Skill Points: Used for purchasing skills
4 Background Points: Used for Purchasing Backgrounds.
14 Duty Experience: Used for purchasing Subclass ranks.
100 Gilders: Money to spend on your starting Equipment.
An Artifact Item: All characters come into game with a unique artifact item that is bound to them. It can never be traded, lost, or stolen, and only you can ever use is. Artifact items are created for you by a staff member after they review your character and backstory. As such, if you don’t clear your character before your first event, you may not have an inception item until a staff can design one for you.

Choosing a Bloodline
Bloodlines influence your innate abilities, and help outline your character’s natural strengths and weaknesses.
Choosing a Class
Classes heavily influence what your character does within the world of Ananke. Your Class is the primary way you advance your character in terms of power, whether it be the valorous Guardian, the crafty Hunter, some combination of the two, or something else entirely. There is no limit to the number of Classes you can pick up and combine, but we suggest that new players pick one Class to focus on, and branch out later.
Choosing a Subclass
A Subclass represents a hobby, trade and/or service that your character specializes in. Each player has access to a single “Subclass Slot” at start. Duty Experience Points (DXP) is invested to advance the Subclass level, and new Subclass Slots can be purchased up to a total of 3. As a rule, a starting character begins with enough DXP to raise 1 Subclass up to Rank 3, or to purchase a second subclass at start.
Multiple Characters
The Game allows a player to have multiple Characters in the database, but players are absolutely prohibited from swapping between them on the same event day. This is referred to as “Hotswapping” and is a violation of the rules. Players are allowed to play one character per day, and may spend Friday as one PC to gain 5 XP for that character, and Saturday as the other Character and gain 10 XP for them. Violation of this rule can result in forfeiture of EXP gained this event.
Purchasing Items
After that, you’re pretty much left with your possessions. You start with 100 Gilders worth of equipment which can be selected from the Starting Item List; you must buy your starting equipment before your third Event or you will lose the starting currency. A list of what you are purchasing should be sent to the GMs at least two weeks prior to the Event to be guaranteed your items by game’s start.
