The second focus area, energy management and climate change, looks at maintaining and improving energy efficiency and encouraging the use of renewable energy to reduce carbon emissions. This effort needs to be supported by implementing knowledge dissemination initiatives through education and training in measuring the reduction of carbon dioxide (CO₂) and other greenhouse gases.
