SmartGreen recently undertook a productive learning visit to the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) to explore best practices in the composting process. The visit yielded invaluable insights, identifying several basic composting techniques that are highly suitable for implementation at Politeknik Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah (PSA). Key findings include the immediate need to begin separating wet waste from plastic and food containers within all departments, the PSA food court, and the Kamsis cafeteria. The team also learnt about the feasibility of recycling the produced compost back into the campus landscape, creating a closed-loop system. Additionally, the visit highlighted the option of utilising a specialised composting machine from Maeko Sdn Bhd to streamline the process. Crucially, MBSA has pledged to provide advisory and technical support, demonstrating its readiness to collaborate and assist PSA in launching its composting project on campus.
