Politeknik Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah has achieved a prestigious milestone in its journey toward carbon neutrality by being awarded the Diamond Recognition for the Zone Category in the Low Carbon City Challenge 2030. This top-tier award, organised by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability through the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC), acknowledges PSA's significant success in reducing carbon emissions across the campus. The Diamond status serves as a powerful testament to the effectiveness of the SmartGreen PSA initiatives, validating the institution’s rigorous efforts in energy efficiency, waste management, and sustainable infrastructure. This achievement not only elevates PSA's reputation at a national level but also reinforces its role as a leader in supporting Malaysia's goal of becoming a net-zero greenhouse gas emissions nation by 2050.

Monthly Green Awards (January–June 2026)
These awards are introduced to recognize PSA staff and students (Warga PSA) who have been actively involved in green initiatives throughout the first six months of the year. The award winners represent various departments across PSA.
Recognizing individuals for their green efforts directly correlates with fostering a sustainable institutional culture, aligning with the following SDGs:
SDG 4: Quality Education
By celebrating active participation in environmental activities, the institution reinforces Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). It incentivizes the practical application of green knowledge, ensuring sustainability is lived, not just taught.
SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
Many grassroots green activities at a departmental level involve recycling, reducing paper waste, and energy conservation. Rewarding these behaviors promotes responsible resource management across the entire campus.
SDG 13: Climate Action
Combating climate change requires collective, everyday actions. Acknowledging departmental and individual green efforts encourages sustained, long-term behaviors that reduce the institution's overall carbon footprint.
SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
Under the umbrella of a "Green Campus," fostering a healthy, environmentally conscious, and appreciative workplace culture enhances staff well-being and productivity, contributing to a sustainable institutional working environment.
