Run to Clean: Gotong-Royong Edition
As part of the practical requirements for the DCC50492 (Environmental Pollution & Control) course syllabus, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) gotong-royong program titled "Run to Clean" was successfully organized. The initiative mobilized 50 student participants who actively engaged in cleaning and restoring targeted campus areas.
Through systematic waste collection and hands-on waste segregation, the team successfully gathered and categorized a total of 36 kg of solid waste. The segregation process effectively separated recyclable materials, such as plastics and paper, from non-recyclable general waste.
This initiative directly aligns with key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 4 (Quality Education). Beyond fulfilling academic coursework, the program successfully fostered environmental stewardship, practical pollution control skills, and strong civic responsibility among the engineering students.
