Politeknik Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah has demonstrated continued progress in global sustainability rankings, as reflected in the release of the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking (UIGREEN) results for 2025. While the global ranking slightly shifted to 1208th out of 1745 participating institutions (from 1152nd out of 1476 in 2024), PSA successfully improved its national standing, rising from 46th to 44th in Malaysia amidst increased local competition. The detailed results reveal strong performance in Setting and Infrastructure (SI) and Transportation (TR), both achieving 54% efficiency, highlighting PSA's success in campus planning and green mobility. Areas such as Energy & Climate Change (EC, 35%), Waste (WS, 36%), and Water (WR, 31%) represent the priority focus areas for future SmartGreen initiatives. This comparative data provides crucial benchmarks for PSA to strategise and intensify efforts across all six thrusts, aiming for further improvements in the coming years.

SmartGreen PSA hosted a successful Vegetable Gardening Session, uniting lecturers, support staff, and technicians to establish edible green spaces. They planted a diverse array of vegetables: spinach, mustard greens, soup base, oregano, lemongrass, pandan, bottle beans, and okra. A key aspect is the use of SPAH (Sistem Penuaian Air Hujan) for irrigation, showcasing circular resource management. This initiative fosters appreciation for the land and supports SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) through communal harvests and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by promoting fresh, homegrown produce. The harvest will be shared with participants and the broader PSA community.
