A collaborative effort with the campus community dedicated a portion of their time during the breaking of the fast to a purposeful initiative: integrating compost into the soil. This hands-on activity transformed waste into a valuable resource, directly enriching the campus landscape. This effort not only underscores our commitment to a zero-waste philosophy but also demonstrates how simple, collective actions can lead to tangible improvements in our environment.

The benchmarking visit to PBS yielded valuable insights for the SmartGreen PSA initiative. Key findings emphasised that all departmental and centre activities related to green practices, regardless of scale, should be documented for SmartGreen data. EKSA activities were identified as relevant and integrable into SmartGreen reporting. The need for a "pushing factor" to drive and motivate the SmartGreen committee and participation was highlighted. The importance of strategic collaboration with local authorities, particularly MBSA, was underscored for broader stakeholder engagement. SmartGreen was also encouraged to explore income generation through recyclable sales to support its activities. Finally, a focus on meticulous follow-up and adherence to established best practices was deemed crucial for the programme's success.
