Geology

Geologists study the Earth, its composition, structure, and history. They use their findings to predict natural disasters, understand climate change, and find natural resources. Some of the sub-disciplines of geology include mineralogy (the study of minerals), paleontology (the study of fossils), structural geology (the study of the Earth's crust), and geomorphology (the study of landforms). Some famous Indian geologists include Darashaw Nosherwan, Khadg Singh Valdiya, Birbal Sahni, Rabi Narayan Bastia, Dasika Durga Prasada Rao, and Pramatha Nath Bose.

A student can pursue a career in geology by completing the following steps:

1. Complete 12th grade with a science stream.

2. Pursue a bachelor's degree in geology (B.Sc. Geology).

3. Pursue a master's degree in geology (M.Sc. Geology).

4. Pursue a doctoral degree in geology (Ph.D. in Geology).

Alternatively, a student can pursue an integrated master's and bachelor's degree in geology (Integrated Graduation & M.Sc Geology).
