Are you intrigued by the vast expanse of space? Do you possess a penchant for operating machinery? Are you interested in pursuing a career in the study and design of aerial machines?
This is the best choice, then.
Aerospace engineering is a discipline that encompasses the study of the design, operation, and construction of various types of vehicles, including aircraft, spacecraft, missiles, rockets, and space shuttles. This field is divided into two sub-branches: aeronautical engineering and astronautical engineering. The former involves the design and construction of aircraft, including gliders, fixed-wing aeroplanes, jets, and helicopters, while the latter focuses on the design and development of spacecraft, commonly referred to as rocket science.
Aerospace engineering is a multidisciplinary field that draws upon various engineering subjects, including mechanical engineering, computer science, graphics and design, mathematical modelling, drafting, electronics, robotics, and aeronautics.
Aeronautical engineers are responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of aircraft to ensure a high level of technical precision and safe operations. They direct and coordinate the design, manufacture, and testing of aircraft and aerospace products. In addition, they assess proposals for projects to determine their technical and financial feasibility, as well as their potential to result in safe operations that meet defined goals. Engineers evaluate designs to ensure that products meet engineering principles, customer requirements, and environmental regulations. They also develop acceptance criteria for design methods, quality standards, sustainment after delivery, and completion dates. Furthermore, engineers ensure that projects meet quality standards and inspect malfunctioning or damaged products to identify sources of problems and possible solutions.
The student has the option to pursue 12-Science (Maths) and subsequently complete an Integrated B.Tech+M.Tech program in Aerospace Engineering. This can be followed by a Ph.D. program. Alternatively, the student may choose to complete a B.Tech program in Aeronautical Engineering, followed by an M.Tech program in the same field, and then proceed to a Ph.D. program. Another option is to complete a B.Tech program in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and then proceed to an M.Tech program in the same field.
