If your eyes don’t see me
Close them for a moment,
Forget them for a moment,
So you can feel that I’m still here.
Thought I wasn’t going to be with you?
I have waited like you for this moment
And I couldn’t miss it
My girl, my baby, that today
Take your first steps as a woman.
I wrote this poem because I liked it a lot, I liked it because she closed her eyes and thought that he was no longer going to be there with him and he was looking forward to that moment coming and just likes her.
I really liked your poem because it reminds me of a love story where the man is a complete gentlemen, and because of the way you use words to make people think of what you are trying to say. The stanza "My girl, my baby, that today" & "Take your first steps as a woman", gives me a lot of gentlemen vibes. The first stanza I mentioned lets me know that he loves her very much. The second stanza I mentioned tells me he will be there with her on every step of the way, taking care of her. Having stanzas that talk about a men being a gentlemen stands out to me a lot because gentlemen's are not normalized now-a-days in society. I honestly hope your poem impacts and motivates both men and women, but mostly men, so people can have beautiful love stories like the ones back in the 90's.
