Where did they live?
But where did the gods, the great ones, live and what did they eat?
Where else but on the highest mountain, Mount Olympus.
That's why they called them 'Olympian Gods. That's what the Ancient Greeks imagined.

Where did they live?
Up there, on the top, was the golden palace of Zeus and below it the glittering palaces of the other gods. They lived together like one big family.
How did they live?
Their life was endless and happy. Of course, they had their little quarrels, just like humans. But there was Father Zeus kissing them at the end.
What were they eating?
So they gathered at the table of Zeus and ate and drank what people eat and drink. They had their own food, ambrosia, and their own drink, nectar.
What they did
From up there, they saw the people and took care of them. They supported good and punished evil. Many times they would come down to earth transformed as humans so that they would not be known and go and see what people were doing or sit at their tables and eat with them
They easily got angry, fought and beat each other up. They were like humans, except that they never died and were always young and beautiful. They were immortal and not mortal like humans.
This is how the gods lived up there on Mount Olympus, the highest Greek mountain.
