The lesser gods were a multitude of other lesser gods who lived in various places and took care of people.
The most important of them were:
Dionysus or Bacchus,
god of vines and wine. He taught people how to cultivate the vine, which gives them sweet wine. With it they feast, have fun and rejoice. A happy god
Asclepius,
god of medicine. He has his temples, the Asclepias, where people go and are healed.
Aeolus,
the god of winds. He has them locked up in deep caves. He won't let them out unless his father, Poseidon, orders him to.
Pluto,
the god of Hades, that is, the underworld. He lives in the depths of the earth, where the souls of men go. Hermes leads them as far as Lake Acherousia, where Charon takes them in his boat and takes them to the other shore, where the gates of Hades are.
The myth of Persephone (soon) *
Pluto stole Demeter's daughter, Persephone, and made her his wife. But Demeter, on her knees, begged Zeus to give her daughter back to her.
And Zeus arranged it so that Persephone would live six months with her husband and six months with her mother. So when she comes to earth, spring, summer and joy come. When she comes down from the earth, there comes Autumn, Winter and sorrow.
