Winds blowing toward mountains can generate local winds, clouds, local fronts, etc. due to deformation around high elevation areas. In the basin, the air cooled by radiative cooling at night and the water vapor condenses, resulting in fog and a sea of clouds. In the Kusaka Laboratory, we study the time, conditions, and mechanisms of unique phenomena that occur around mountains with observation data and numerical simulations.  The detailed research themes are shown below:
