Victor Lay

Victor Murphy Lay, born on May 4, 1946, was the son of NH jockey Percy Lay.

He started out as an amateur and rode a total of 30 winners.

The first was Pilgrim Father at Taunton on April 4, 1963. He rode his last winner on the same course in 1972 before retiring the following year.

His one win of note came in the 1966 Lonsdale Hurdle on Torrabus on which he won 10 races in total.
