Homes
High up in the misty peaks of the South Ridge mountain range is where the Udin take up residence. Here they build sturdy homes on the flattened areas out of strong yet flexable wood. Houses here are attached to one another or houses above on the mountainsides by boarded walkways and covered resting areas, as with the mist, it's often very wet and cold on the stone ground. These homes are decorated on the inside and out with finely carved wood decoration, vibrant colorful paints and living plants. Wonderful woven fabrics adorn their places of residence alongside warm fluffy pillows, padded with wool or other natural animal fibers. Lighting here is done via magic as it needs to be in such a damp area.
Clothing
Udin dress to impress. It's all too common to find Udin of all ages covered in delicate beadwork, fine cloth, or rare metal jewelry. Tunics and sashes are the most common clothing, simply because their body is so long! Tail bands are also common, and so are horn decorations or paint. Some even carve their horns. When traveling, they will wear leg guards to keep their smaller legs safe from harm.
Life and Death
Life is a grand celebration in this species' culture. When eggs hatch, there is a party hosted by the family, and all those that attend will bring things they have made for the new whelps to wear...or grow into! Fine-cooked dishes and tea and honey wine are shared with neighbors and friends.
Death is a much more somber affair. When a udin passes, the family and village will wrap their body in a fine soft linen wrap and place their body in a small cave dedicated to past members of the same family. Here, there is a large stone that blocks the entrance from scavengers, that has a curled Udin caved into it, peacefully at rest.
Role on the islands
Udin take up many roles but tend to not stray far from their mountain range home. They are fine crafters, taking orders for works of art, buildings, decorations ect. If you see something crafted with the precision of human machines, it's probably from an udins paw. Their skills in the arts lead them to rich lives of music, art, and cooking, and once a year they hold a festival of said arts in the foot hills of the mountains. Its a grand celebration and dragons from all over come to visit and shop and have a good time!
