Homes
Hyvern live deep within the spirit woods. Its part of the reason they have stayed hidden for so long. Hyvern live within large hive like structures made of wood, bark, sticks, mud and moss. These large hives can house many families at once. These homes are sectioned off into different areas such as nests, sleeping rooms, dining areas, kitchens and general living spaces. More often then not these places are lit up with small fire fly like bugs that are attracted to the hyverns scent and happily live within small glass enclosures that are hung around the hive.
Clothing
Hyvern normally wear simple clothing, or foraging gear. Often it is made of bug parts, cloth, and hide. Its often simple with splash of colors from the bug parts. Colorful paints are often used on the head and neck areas to denote rank or job, or simply just because it looks nice!
Life and Death
Hyverns hatch and are born more adult then most species. They grow up much faster but live just as long as other species. Once hatched they are often given the small task of tending to their firefly companions to keep the hive lit well. When it comes to death, being in the spirit woods, they hold their dead in the highest regards. Their bodies are laid to rest at the base of the giant tree where there hive is located. These places are often littered with smooth round stones carved with the names of the dead. This is so that the dead can continue to live with the family, even in the afterlife.
Role on the islands
Hyvern are often amazing foragers of rare nuts and fungus and are said to know WHERE the mushlings sprout each year in the fall. Because of this they are great providers of rare food ingredients since...a lot of dragons don't like the ghost ridden woodlands where hyvern live.
